Rich Soil

Rich Soil (or Topsoil) has a neutral pH and is suitable for all garden use.  It is a screened (approx 15mm screen) field top soil with a small percentage of manure added (for no extra charge this amount can be increased, if required, for vegetable beds etc).

Sterilised Rich Soil

As Rich Soil, but heat treated to kill any weed seeds which may be present.  In most cases ordinary Rich Soil will be sufficient for your needs, but sterilised may be preferred in a greenhouse.

Root Zone

Root Zone is a mixture of Rich Soil (50%) and Sharp Sand (50%) and is ideal for use when laying turf. It is a dense, free draining mix which benefits and encourages new root growth. This product will contain some small stones (12mm - 18mm), but this is beneficial as it helps drainage.

Premium Soil

A finer screened organic Fenland Peat/Loam based soil.  It has a lighter texture than Rich Soil and a darker colour.  Ideal for school projects where children are cultivating and planting.  Little or no stone content.  Not suitable for under turf.

Fine Screened Sterilsed Loam

A fine screened loam with no added fertiliser, which has been heat treated to kill any weed seeds present.  Suitable for mixing own composts, use in or around ponds, greenhouses etc.

Lawn Dressing

A fine screened Lawn Dressing comprising 40% Sterilised Loam, 40% Sharp Sand and 20% Sedge Peat, plus organic fertilisers.  Application rate approx. 5mm - 12mm depth (quarter to half inch) maximum.  Can also be used at similar depth to give a finer tilth to topsoil for seeding a new lawn.
