The manures listed above are good for conditioning a heavy clay soil, particularly when used in conjunction with grit or sand. Best application rate is 50mm (2") manure to 25mm (1") grit or sand (approx. 1 bag of each to 1 sq.mtr.). For best results, the grit or sand should be dug into the ground and then the manure added and forked in.

Mushroom Compost

Mushroom Compost is a mix of manure and peat used to grow a crop of mushrooms and then sterilised. It is well composted and ideal for mulching herbacaceous borders or digging in vegetable plots. It can be slightly alkaline and is therefore not recommended for acid loving (ericaceous) plants e.g. Rhodedendrons, Azaleas, Ericas etc.

Per bag (approx 60ltrs)................£3.00
Per cu.mtr(loose)...........................£40.00
Per dumpy bag...............................£45.00
